The North Carolina House of Representatives will open its upcoming legislative session on Wednesday, January 11th, at 12:00PM. The House will convene to swear in the members of the 156th North Carolina House of Representatives, elect officers, adopt Rules, and otherwise organize the 2023-2024 Session.
The oath of office will be administered to all members collectively, who will be joined by their families on the House Floor.
For any member of the public wishing to attend the opening ceremony, the House gallery will open at 11:00 A.M. on January 11th. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive in time if you would like a seat. For those who are unable to attend but would like to view the proceedings, you can find a video live-stream of the House Chamber on the North Carolina General Assembly YouTube channel, which can be accessed by following this link.
