Board of Commissioners Declares Caldwell County a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary

The Caldwell County Board of Commissioners considered and passed a resolution that declared Caldwell County a Second Amendment Sanctuary at its February 3 meeting.

The resolution acknowledges that the U.S. and North Carolina Constitutions both protect the right of the people to keep and bear arms. The resolution declares that no public resources in any form may be used directly or indirectly to infringe on any citizen’s rights laid out by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Caldwell County is one of many counties in North Carolina that are proactively protecting themselves against anti-second amendment legislation that can be seen being passed across our country. The events in Virginia are a clear statement that the Democratic Party everywhere is intent on stripping the country of our Second Amendment rights.

Proper care must be taken to ensure that our rights are protected from all parties who wish to take them away, and the Caldwell County Board of Commissioners should be commended for their efforts to do so.
